Victoria Pearls lost to Zimbabwe in their second game at the African Games and that put them in a must-win situation in their final group games against fellow East Africans Rwanda.
Rwanda will be playing for pride after losing two games against Kenya and Zimbabwe but if they win and Zimbabwe wins against Kenya it could come down to Net Run Rate to decide the second runner-up in the group.
Victoria Pearls Assistant Coach Deus Muhumuza said it was an attitude issue in the loss to Zimbabwe and as long as they sorted out the mind the team should be able to find second gear.
The Victoria Pearls are yet to click with the bat and that was their undoing in the loss to Zimbabwe. On very slow wickets, batting has been a struggle for teams and therefore application from the senior batters is important.
Uganda has used an unchanged team for the first two games and it will be interesting to see if the technical team makes some changes for the must-win encounter.
Rwanda will have to go back in time for the motivation that will give them the edge. Rwanda defeated Uganda in the final of the Kwibuka last year but recent bias will favour who beat them at the T20 Qualifiers in Entebbe.
A win for the Victoria Pearls will see them qualify for the semifinals as runners-up in Group B as their quest for Gold at the 13th African Games continues.
