Gloria Muzito and Tara Naluwoza will compete in the 100m freestyle women cluster. The Tendo duo of Mukalazi and Kaumi will swim in the 100m freestyle men. The 4X100m mixed free relay team has Tendo Mukalazi, Tendo Kaumi, Tara Naluwoza and Gloria Muzito.

Swimmers for the 13th African Games in Accra city, Ghana dive into action on Saturday, 9th March 2024 at the Bortyman complex swimming pool.

The day’s menu has 100m freestyle (men and women), 200m butterfly (men and women), 1500m freestyle (timed finals), 800m freestyle (timed finals) and the 4X100m free relay mixed.

Gloria Muzito and Tara Naluwoza will compete in the 100m freestyle women cluster.

The Tendo duo of Mukalazi and Kaumi will swim in the 100m freestyle men.

The 4X100m mixed free relay team has Tendo Mukalazi, Tendo Kaumi, Tara Naluwoza and Gloria Muzito.

Uganda’s team also has Jesse S.Ssengonzi and Atuhaire Ambala.

Team Uganda (Swimming) at the 13th African Games in Ghana

Experienced coach Joseph Kabogoza is in charge of the team at the games.

Kabagoza is hopeful of a great performance during the African Games with ambitions of posting perfect times to qualify to qualify for the Olympics in Paris city, France.

“We have assembled a formidable team of swimmers. Our target is to make impressive times, good enough to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics” Kabogoza attested.

The official team manager’s meeting was held on Friday afternoon.

Swimming action will continue until Wednesday, 13th March 2024.

In Ghana, Uganda also has teams for football, cricket, chess, cycling, judo, table tennis and badminton.
