Uganda U20 Women’s National Football Team coach Sheryl Botes admitted there was lapse in concentration for her charges in the closing stages of the game against Tanzania.

The encounter played at Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday ended in a one-all draw with Tanzania finding the equalizer in the 89th minute. Margret Kunihira had fired Uganda into the lead in the 40th minute.

“It was really a good game to watch. I think we had some moments of dominace in the game especially in offensive areas,” she started.

“There was lack of concentration especially in the second half. For a game of such physicality, I think we failed to close down the game and allowed them to equalize.” Botes indicated.

Focus for Uganda now shifts to the next group game against Ethiopia on Tuesday and the coach hopes they will go back and rectify the mistakes made against Tanzania.

“We shift our focus to the next game against Ethiopia but we have to go back and correct the mistakes committed in this game.”

Uganda is in Group A with Tanzania and hosts Ghana who edged Ethiopia 1-0 on Saturday.
