Nshera FC clinched their third Ntare Lions League crown across the border in Kigali, Rwanda after defeating TY Omujuma in a penalty shootout.

TY Omujuma were able to make their second consecutive final but maybe the third time will be the charm for them. Omujuma lost to FC Kalele last year in Jinja and this time the final went the distance with both sides only separated by spot kicks.

The Ntare Lion League that brings together old boys of Ntare School continues to go places and break limits as it continues to grow its influence across different cultures. The final of the league was held in Jinja last year and this time the league finale crossed borders to visit Kigali. The Kigali trip gave the old boys an opportunity to also visit the newly constructed Ntare School branch in Kigali.

The sporting activities for the historical visit included cricket, rugby, golf, chess and football – the main event. The cricket old boys got a chance to have a hit with the Abakambwe of Rwanda at the lavish IPRC Cricket Oval with the hosts nicking the game.

The football main event also happened at the IPRC football pitch. Nshera FC came up against a TY Omujuma team looking for its third Ntare Lions League title. After 90 mins both sides could not be separated and season 13 came down to spot kicks.

In the end, Nshera FC shot-stopper Peter Oringo was the hero as they won their 3rd Ntare Lions League crown.

Nshera won the crown managing to win the crown without putting a foot wrong in the regular season. The long trip back to Kampala was very long for TY Omujuma as their wait continues to win the Ntare Lions League title.

The Old Boys of Ntare also had an engagement dinner with the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame who is also an old boy of Ntare School during the Lions League visit to Kigali.
