Uganda Premier League side Vipers Sports Club has finally sacked head coach Livingstone Mbabazi.
The development was confirmed via the club website today Monday, April 8, 2024.
“We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Livingstone Mbabazi,” the statement reads.
Mbabazi will be replaced by Richard Wasswa as the interim head coach until the end of the season.
Wasswa will be deputies by Jose Esdras Costa Lopez, Fred Muhumuza, Richard Kasule Bakabulindi, and goalkeeping coach Ali Kimera.
According to the club website, the search for the Vipers’ next coach is underway and an announcement will be made as soon as the process is complete.
Vipers lie third on the log with 41 points. They will return to action on Tuesday, April 9, as they take on SC Villa at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

What exactly happened to Mbabazi at Vipers?
He seemed discontented? Was he not properly supported? Does he have personal problems?
Anyway, Vipers also need to take a good look in the mirror and do some introspection. You cannot have so much coaching churn at a club and keep blaming the managers. If they want to go to the next level, they need to fix whatever issues they have.
Hopefully, Mulindwa is doing some exit interviewing of all these managers. Wish them luck but they will not go far with the current status quo.
Which type of a coach does vipers need to make them settle please keep trust at least in one person for a year not everyday changing infact us the supporters of football in uganda we don’t support our own because of such things and my advice to the management of venomous is to at least bring a coach formally at TP mazembe or Mamelodi not that everyday you’re bringing new faces and how do you expect players to settle please in your club us the own viper is now another man United who are suffering local, artificial and natural due to such mistakes thanks a proud ugandan
