Round eleven, the final round in the regular season of the 2024 Nile Special Rugby Men’s Championship, is the designated halfway point. Places in the championship and relegation playoffs have already been booked but the teams will play one more time to cast their finishing positions in stone.

Nile Special Rugby (Men’s) Championship 2024 – Round 11 Fixtures:

  • The Graveyard, Makerere: Rams vs Warriors
  • Kitante Primary School Playground: Eagles vs Rhinos
  • Legends Rugby Grounds: KOBs vs Walukuba
  • Busambaga, Entebbe: Mongers vs Hippos
  • Kings Park: Pirates vs Impis
  • Kyadondo Rugby Club: Buffaloes vs Heathens

All matches will kick off at 4 p.m. EAT (local time).

At the top of the table, in the championship playoffs positions, Heathens and Jinja Hippos have already sealed their first and second places respectively in the standings. Win or lose, their positions will not change. But Pirates and KOBs following them, plus Mongers, Buffaloes, Walukuba, and Rhinos a further step below still have work to do.

At the bottom of the table in the relegation playoffs positions, it is still all to play for among Eagles, Impis, Warriors, and Rams. The four are separated by four points in the standings.

In an ideal world, results would follow a stable historical trend and the standings would not change. But as we have seen throughout this season, the 2024 championship has been far from ideal. Rather, it’s been filled with jeopardy and drama.

And more is coming in the epic climax to the regular season this afternoon.
