Uganda Men won two of their three pool matches on day one of the 2024 World Rugby HSBC 7s Challenger finale in Munich, Germany.

They beat Tonga and Mexico but lost to Hong Kong China in Pool B.

Uganda Men’s Results on Day One:

  • Match 1: Uganda 26-12 Tonga
  • Match 2: Uganda 33-12 Mexico
  • Match 3: Hong Kong China 33-12 Uganda

Nobert Okeny led Uganda’s scorecard from Day One with seven tries (two braces and a hat trick).

The other try scorers were Denis Etwau, Allan Olango, William Nkore, and Alex Aturinda. Nkore converted eight of the eleven tries scored by Uganda.

Uganda thus progressed to the Cup Quarterfinals as the runner-up from Pool B. They will face Chile at 1.06 p.m. EAT on Day Two.
