Kitara Football club had a remarkable 2023-2024 season, winning the Federation cup, the Stanbic Uganda Cup as well as finishing fourth (with 54 points) in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, three points shy of the winners Sports Club Villa.

The prime minister for the Republic of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja was confirmed as the patron for Kitara Football Club.

The development came after a formal visit by the club delegation to the office of the Prime minister in Kampala city.

The delegation of players and other officials was led by the charismatic chairperson Deo Kasozi and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joshua Atugonza as they presented the Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy to the iron lady.

We presented our Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy to the prime minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabanja this afternoon at her office in Kampala. The premier accepted to become our club Patron going forward and also promised to support the team in its upcoming CAF interclub arrangements.

The club had a remarkable 2023-2024 season, winning the Federation cup, the Stanbic Uganda Cup as well as finishing fourth (with 54 points) in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, three points shy of the winners Sports Club Villa.

By virtue of winning the Stanbic Uganda Club Kitara Football Club earned a direct ticket to represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup, for the first time ever.

The 2024-2025 CAF Interclub season is ear-marked to kick off between 16th to 18th August 2024 with the preliminary round.

The group stages will come between October and December 2024 with the quarter finals, semi-finals and finals coming in 2025.

Club patrons play key significant roles in the leadership structure of the institution ranging from advisory tasks to resource mobilization.
