Marvin Kibirige won the 2024 West Nile golf open in the professional cluster.

Kibirige who is based at Namulonge golf club scored 6-under 136 in two rounds (36 holes) at the Arua golf course in West Nile.

During round one, Kibirige scored 3-under-68 and replicated the same score on the subsequent 18 holes for round two.

For 36 holes, Kibirige had 11 birdies, 20 pars and 5 bogey scores.

Entebbe based Vincent “Araali” Byamukama scored 137 in 36 holes to come second behind Kibirige.

Byamukama netted 4-under 67 on day two to better his par score (70) during the opening round.

Tadeo Rodel Gaita finished third with 142 gross as Ronald Otile (143) ended fourth.

The duo of Abraham Ainamani and Emmanuel Ogwang each scored 144 to finish joint fifth.

David Kamulindwa (145), Saidi Mawa (146), Silver Opio (146) and Emmanuel Opio Onito (146) completed the top ten positions; all who made the cut.

In total, 22 professionals played in the open whose total cash kitty was Ug.Shs 13,000,000.

Meanwhile, Abdul Kakeeto won the men amateur event with 217 total gross ahead of Siraj Onzima (220) and Joseph Cwinya-ai (221).

Martha Babirye (231) took the ladies female top gong, ahead of Maron Kyomugisha (238) and Resty Nalutaaya (254).

The West Nile Golf Open was organized by the West Nile club in Arua city in conjunction with Uganda Golf Union, Uganda Ladies Golf Union, Uganda Wildlife Authority, Crown Beverages under the Pepsi brand, White Cap Crisp, Orchard Interiors, Nbs Sport and KCB Bank.
