Uganda Men will get another shot at the World Rugby 7s Challenger Series after qualifying for the 2025 edition. They booked their ticket through the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s in Mauritius.

Uganda won both Cup Finals of the two-round tournament played at the Labourdonnais Sports Club. In the second round, they beat last year’s silver medalist South Africa by 20-17 points.

Aaron Ofoyrwoth scored the match-winning try in the last play.

In addition to qualifying for next year’s 7s Challenger, Uganda’s total points tally delivered the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s title.

Final Rankings after two rounds of the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s in Mauritius

This is the country’s fourth title, one they clinched in such historic fashion. Uganda played twelve matches during the tournament and won them all.

Madagascar claimed Africa’s second ticket to the 7s Challenger and will participate in the tournament for the first time since its inception in 2020.
