Aaron Ofoyrwoth was named the Most Valuable Player of the second round of the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s in Mauritius.

The halfback was absolutely unplayable during the tournament as Uganda clinched their fourth Africa Men’s 7s title in history.

Ofoyrwoth scored six tries and kicked nine conversions but his contribution to the team was far beyond his finishing. As a playmaker, his restarts put Uganda on the front foot and his brilliance created opportunities for Uganda to go forward in attack. His defence was good too, especially on the cross cover.

“To win the Africa Men’s 7s title was the goal but to also scoop the tournament MVP hit different. Thank you to my teammates, I am because of you,” Ofoyrwoth tweeted on Sunday evening after the tournament.

This was Ofoyrwoth’s second Africa Men’s 7s title, having previously won the tournament in 2022.
