2024 Stanbic Half Year Mug:

Overall winners:

  • Men: Ignatius Twesigye – 66 Nett
  • Ladies: Sarah Nduhukire – 71Nett

Order of merit winners:

  • Men: Jackson Karyarugookwe – 365 points
  • Ladies: Connie Mukuru – 404 points

Guest winner:

  • Emmanuel Yeka – 71 net

Senior winners:

  • Men: Steven Katwiremu – 69 nett
  • Ladies: Ruth Ssali – 74 nett   

The 2024 Uganda Golf Club (UGC) Stanbic Half year mug was successfully held at the par-72 golfing facility in Kampala city.

Ignatius Twesigye and Sarah Nduhukire shone brightest during the day-long championship.

Playing off handicap 13, Twesigye scored 66 nett to win the men’s cluster (overall).

The civil engineer by profession was outstanding with two birdies on holes 6 and 13.

“It feels nice to win such a championship especially after I played with a brand new kit” Twesigye who also won the longest drive contest on par-5 hole 18 stated.

Sarah Nduhukire (71 nett) was overall winner for the ladies.

Order of merit winners:

Jackson Karyarugookwe (365 points) and Connie Mukuru (404 points) took home the men and ladies respective plaques in the order of merit cluster.

The guest winner was Emmanuel Yeka with 71 nett whilst the senior winners were Steven Katwiremu – (69 nett) and Ruth Ssali (74 nett ) for the men and ladies respectively.

The group winners under the men gender were Edgar Muzahura (71 nett) in group A.

Seasoned sports journalist Mark Namanya took group B with 68 nett and Tushar Mashru toppled the rest of the golfers in pool C with 69 nett.

Ladies:

Lydia Mutesi scored 75 nett to win on countback for ladies group A.

Group B was triumphed by Shamim Juma with 73 nett (Countback).

Side-bets:

Albert Kisembo won the men’s nearest to pin competition with Suzan Tashobya winning the ladies category on par-3 hole 17.

On par-5 hole 18, the longest drive was taken by the day’s star Ignatius Twesigye and the left hander Gloria Mbaguta.
