Weekend Fixtures: 20/07/2024

  • Olila CC v Wanderers CC – Lugogo Oval
  • JACC v Soroti City – Entebbe Oval
  • Jinja SS v Tornado Bee – Jinja Oval

Wanderers will face a tough opponent in Olila Cricket Club in their first game of the women’s T20 League.

Olila CC comes into the fixture with confidence after picking up maximum points against Pioneer last weekend at the same venue.

It’s a sort of new beginning for Wanderers who are without many senior players and will be relying on some new exciting talent to be competitive against a very strong opponent.

Olila, former winners of the T20 League, are the favourites in this fixture but will need to work hard for the result.

Soroti City will battle Jinja-based JACC at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe. Soroti City dropped points last weekend at the same venue but will want to make amends this weekend to ensure that they take complete charge of Group A.

JACC has been greatly helped by the additions of Immaculate Nakisuyi and Kevin Awino to their line-up and they will also be confident after picking up their first win of the season last weekend against ACC.

Victoria Pearls Captain Janet Mbabazi is yet to light up the league but she is a proven match-winner for Soroti City.

In Jinja, the home side Jinja SS will be hosting Tornado Bee.

Tornado Bee had Soroti City’s number last weekend, picking up a win out of the two games. The visitors will be looking at picking up another result on the road that can help them push for a knockout place.

The indifferent form of teams in Group A has left everyone with a chance of progressing to the semifinals but Soroti City who have played the most games are on top while Group B is, for now, being commanded by Olila CC.
