Heat 1:

  • Winner: Peruth Chemutai (Uganda) – 9:10:51
  • 2nd: Faith Cherotich (Kenya) – 9:10:57

Heat 2:

  • Winner: Winfred Yavi (Bahrain) – 9:15:11
  • 2nd:  Sembo Almayew Welteji (Ethiopia) – 9:15:42

Heat 3:

  • Winner: Beatrice Chepkoech (Kenya) – 9:13:56
  • 2nd: Alice Finot (France) – 9:14:78

The qualification heats for the 3000m Women’s Steeplechase Finals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France were successfully held on the morning of Sunday, 4th August.

Uganda’s Peruth Chemutai posted the fastest time in all the heats ran on the day.

Chemutai easily won heat one with a timing of 9:10:51 ahead of Kenya’s Faith Cherotich (9:10:57).

Heat two was won by Winfred Yavi from Bahrain with a timing of 9:15:11 whilst Ethiopian Sembo Almayew Welteji (9:15:42).

The third heat was won by Beatrice Chepkoech (Kenya) with a timing of 9:13:56.

France’s Alice Finot (9:14:78) came second in heat three.

The finals will be held on Wednesday, 7th August 2024.
