The 2024 Nile Special 7s Series kicked off with shocking results during the opening Entebbe 7s circuit.

This was on both ends of Day One on Saturday at the Works Grounds in Entebbe.

In the first round during the morning session, Rams stunned Walukuba by 17-14 points in Pool C despite the latter having won all three pre-season 7s tournaments in which they participated.

The second round during the mid-morning session passed without much drama.

But it delivered the most entertaining match of the day between Avengers and Thunderbirds in the women’s Pool B. Avengers won the tie by 14-07 points.

Later that evening in the third round, Gift Wokorach kicked a penalty for Walukuba to upset stacked favourites Heathens by just three points.

Then Rhinos pulled off a spirited comeback against Black Pirates. They won the tie, 12-10, to top Pool A with a clean sheet.
