Handball threw off at Bukedea Primary school during the 2024 FEASSA Games co-hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive school and Amus College.
It is basically survival for the fittest as the action rages on. Following two opening match days, the target for the respective teams is to secure the knock out slots.
Boys:
In some of the boys’ action played, Rwanda’s Adegi has so far made it two out of two with victories over Ugandan opposition; Ntare School (30-12) and Mbogo Mixed (22-14).
Ntare School also lost their second game on Tuesday, falling 25-28 to Tanzanian side, Magnus.
Magnus had a day earlier fallen to Kenya’s Hospital Hill 23-22. Uganda’s champions Wampewo Ntake smiled to 29-24 win over Bombo Army.
Bombo Army had earlier recorded a victory; 22-18 past Tanzania’s Bunda.
Kenyan school, Siniak recorded a tale of mixed results; winning 17-15 past Bunda (Tanzania) and losing 24-31 to another Kenyan opposition, Kimilili.


Girls:
For the girls; Gombe High got off the hook with a 27-19 win over Tanzania’s Kilombero.
The victory came after a 22-all stalemate with Kenya’s Murinduko.

Kawanda SS made amends with a 27-21 win past Tanzania’s Njombe.
Another Ugandan school, Mbogo High beat Kenya’s Kwanthane 20-11.
Elsewhere; the all Kenyan duel between Kwanthanze and Murinduko ended in favour of the latter, 15-09.
Rwanda’s Kiziguro overcame Njombe from Tanzania 20-11.
Action continues on Wednesday with no margin of error for the respective teams as the knock out round comes knocking.
Handball is among the sports disciplines at 2024 FEASSA Games. The other games include Rugby (7’s and 15’s), badminton, Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Goalball, football, netball, handball, athletics, swimming, tennis and table tennis.
The games will run until Tuesday, 27th August 2024, on the day of the official closing ceremony.
Uganda is the overall defending champion after the games held in Huye city, Rwanda last year.
