Mwiri Oval:

  • Morning: Gulu High School 129/7 beat Shree Sahajand School 128/7 by 3 wickets
  • Afternoon: Soroti SS 97/6 beat Horizon International School 45 all out by 52 runs

Jinja College Oval;

  • Morning: Busoga College Mwiri 178 all out beat Ndejje SS 47 all out by 131 runs
  • Afternoon: Nyakasura School 53/2 beat Masaka SS 51 all out by 8 wickets

Jinja SS Oval 2:

  • Morning: St James SS 49/2 beat Horizon International 48 all out by 2 wickets
  • Afternoon: Kiira College Butiki 110/5 beat Ntare School 110 all out. Kiira College Butiki won Super Over

Main Street Oval:

  • Morning: Jinja SS 279/6 beat Ntare School 72/6
  • Afternoon: Aga Khan 176/6 beat Ndejje SS 98 all out by 78 runs

The favourites at the 2024 Boys School Cricket Week stormed the Super Six unbeaten. Defending champions Jinja SS emerged winners in Group A, losing finalists for the last two years Nyakasura won Group B and record winners Busoga College Mwiri topped Group C.

Jinja SS didn’t have the luck of the toss in the previous games but today having won the toss they put the hammer down and plundered the highest score of the tournament against Ntare School. Ronald Magezi (122) scored the third century of the tournament as the defending champions warmed up for the Super Six.

The push for second place in Group A was a 3-way battle between St Joseph’s College Layibi, Teso College Aloet and St John’s SS Mukono. Teso College held on to their second due to a better Net Run Rate despite St John’s SS Mukono defeating St Joseph’s College Layibi. Teso College Aloet and St John’s SS Mukono finished on the same number of points but edged the former by 0.1.

Nyakasura has gone about its business quietly and hasn’t dropped any points in the group games. They won Group B with Delhi Public School edging out fierce rivals Shree Sahajand despite losing to them in the group games. Gulu High School crushed Shree Sahajand’s party, a defeat that was fatal in their progression.

Gerald Olipa’s bat has carried Busoga College Mwiri through the group games, he notched up his second century of the tournament as the record winners blew away Ndejje SS in their final group game. Aga Khan moved into the Super Six with them, the two favourites not very bothered in the tournament. Busoga College will need more heroes if they are get into the finals.

The top two sides from each group qualify for the Super Six, they are divided into 2 groups with a semifinals and finals.

The remaining teams drop into the plate event and will be divided into 4 groups with a semifinal and final.

  • Group B: Jinja SS, Nyakasura School, Teso College Aloet

  • Group C: St Joseph’s College Layibi, King’s College Budo, Horizon International School
  • Group D: Gulu High School, St James SS, Ntare School
