Avengers and Platinum Credit Heathens have taken charge of the 2024 Nile Special 7s Series with victory at the Kyabazinga 7s.

Avengers obliterated Thunderbirds, 35-00, in the women’s Cup Final to step onto the podium for the third time. The resounding victory did not only earn the Entebbe girls maximum points but also avenged the defeat to Thunderbirds during last weekend’s Gulu 7s semifinals.
Black Pearls, their closest challengers who were adrift by just one point, settled for bronze.
It was not a walk in the park for Heathens in the men’s Cup Final. They needed a sudden death try in extra time to beat hosts Walukuba by 12-07 points after levelling matters late in regulation time. The Kyadondo boys have now gone back-to-back, having also claimed the Gulu 7s title last weekend.
Black Pirates, their closest challengers with whom they were tied, stumbled in the Cup Quarterfinals and ended up fifth.
The Kyabazinga 7s rewrote the script of the series. Nile Rapids dropped from fourth place for the first time while Kakira Simbas beat three core sides on the standings.
