Men’s UGT20 League: Semifinals
- Morning: Wanderers 137/6 beat Ceylon Lions 136/8 by 4 wickets
- Afternoon: Rounders 93/4 beat Tornado 87 all out by 6 wickets
Wanderers have come through two difficult knock-out games to qualify for the men’s UGT20 final. They were never favourites in either game and got past Ceylon Lions by 4 wickets in the first semifinal.
Ceylon Lions won the toss and elected to bat first. Charles Musemeza (50) gave the team a good start but at 93/3 in 14.2 Overs, the Ceylon Lions failed to find second gear with no contribution from the middle order and could only finish on 136/8 in 20 overs.
Muhammad Shaaf (3/24) and Ivan Kakande (2/21) were among the wickets for Wanderers.
In the run chase, Wasim Butt (24) offered the resistance at the top of the order. Still, it was a middle effort from Abu Seguya (31) and Amanpreet Singh (35) that threw the sucker punches as Wanderers sealed a memorable result as they continue to chase silverware this season with a final.

In the second semifinal, Rounders dismissed Tornado for cheap before closing out the result to win by six wickets.
Tornado won the toss and batted first but kept losing wickets with only Robert Ajuna (27) offering some resistance.
Tornado was skittled out for just 87 with debutant Brian Masaba (3/18) and David Mwesigwa (3/15) picking the wickets for Rounders.
In the run chase, Rounders dropped three wickets cheaply and were railing at 14/3 but a poor over of 22 runs by Robert Ajuna released the pressure as Pius Oloka (18) and Narinder Singh (32) took charge with Player of the Match Aaron Kasasira (21) delivering some nasty blows at the end to close out the win for Rounders.
Wanderers and Rounders will meet for the first time in the final on Sunday, September 29.
