By simply progressing to the Cup Semifinals of the Rujumba 7s, Avengers have successfully dethroned three-time defending champions Black Pearls from the top step of women’s 7s in Uganda.
A shock 22-15 defeat by She Wolves on Day One delayed a conclusion to the permutations. But early on Day Two, Avengers completed the mission by beating Kitgum Queens, 27-00, in their final pool match.
This is Avengers’ first-ever national 7s series title and their second overall. They won the Uganda Cup two years ago.
Avengers will be crowned officially on Sunday evening after the Cup Finals have been played.
