Overview:
Education is the core at Rapha Primary School. But, other co-curriculum activities as sports are also brought to the fore with excellence in football and netball.
World over, educational institutions are confines where values of humanity, team-work, diligence, morals, dedication and sheer respect are taught to the emphasized and thus taught.
At Rapha Primary School in Luweero, the aforementioned components are staunchly stressed to the brim.
Established in 2012 as Rapha Junior Academy, the institution has steadily grown in leaps and bounds.
Rapha Primary School is now a proven nursery and primary, mixed day and boarding school not only in Buganda region, but also, the entire country.
Education is the core at the school but other co-curriculum activities as sports are also brought to the fore.
A vivid case in point is the year 2023 where the school registered a total of 100 pupils for the primary leaving examinations.
Of these, 89 passed in grade one, 10 in grade two and 1 was absent.
During the same year, the sporting circumference was also top notch, winning their maiden Kabaka football cup (U-14) in Buganda Cup, the first in the Luweero district.
This effort is dedicated to the players, school management and members of the technical staff led by head coach Ronald Kakooza.
Rapha Primary School are also champions of U-12 and U-14 in Luweero Sub-cluster games where even Netball Girls registered their first trophy. They were district champions of FUFA ODILO primary schools championship 2023 and Watoto Wasoka Primary Schools League in the U12 Football Category at the district.
This significance also led to the establishment of Rapha Football Academy that was registered through the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA).
Background:
The vision of Rapha Primary School originated from the dream of Vincent Ssebudde (now deceased) .
Ssebudde senior envisioned a generation of bright, quick-thinking young individuals.
Following his passing, his sons, Joseph Ssebudde (now Executive Director), Innocent Matovu Ssebudde, Thaddeus Ssebudde and Moses Mayinja brought this vision to life.
Rapha Primary School was established in 2006, soon after one of their family meetings where they committed to realizing their father’s dream.
The foundation stone was laid on 20th January 2012, and since then, the school has experienced continuous growth.
On 9th July 2022, the Ssebudde Block was inaugurated by Bishop Eridard Nsubuga, marking another milestone in the school’s expansion as it was celebrating 10 years of education services.
Most recently, Rapha Primary School presented their first ever outside dedication party for the primary Seven Leavers.
This was organized on 11th October, 2024 at Divine Mercy Agritourism Center in Magoma, Nakaseke district.
The Divine Mercy Agritourism Center Inauguration also happened on the day as the place was opening officially for operation activities.
The new Bishop of Kasana – Luweero Diocese His Grace Bishop Lawrence Mukasa was the chief guest to grace the grand opening.
