The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) confirmed the 18 countries for the Total Energies Championship of African Nations (CHAN) 2024 tournament.
The three host countries Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania are joined by Rwanda and Sudan as the representatives from CECAFA zone.
The other countries include; Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo, Zambia, Angola and Madagascar.
Uganda ejected Burundi 2-0 on aggregate over the two legs, both played at the Hamz Stadium (Nakivubo memorial grounds) in Kampala.
For either leg, Uganda Cranes won 1-0 apiece with Isaac Ogwang scoring in the opening match and Hakim Kiwanuka netting in the return leg.
The tournament will kick-off on 1st February and climax by 28th February 2025 in the three East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The host venues are Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium (60,000), Namboole Stadium (45,000), Nyayo National Stadium (18,000), Moi International Sports Centre (55,000) and Amaan Stadium (20,000).
Qualified tournaments:
Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Rwanda, Zambia, Angola and Madagascar

Wait CHAN is always in odd years. So it should be 2024 is not accurate. Or did CAF change the timing?
Anyway, wish the Cranes all the best. I hope the coaches use this to build a spine of the main senior Cranes team because the main team needs more player chemistry and team character.
And hope FUFA stay on top of their game because it all starts and ends with them.
Are they put Sudan instead of South Sudan in the tournament qualified countries. Please correct that
