Former Uganda Cranes defender Henry Kalungi upheld his Christmas party tradition on New Year’s Eve as he dined with children. A day later, he also gave back to the community in Bulemeezi.

This term, Kalungi was joined by Alpha Soccer Academy coach Stephen Nsereko, graduate Arden and her father Shaun as they spread love to the children and families alongside several volunteers.

The group started New Year’s eve with soccer clinics – in search for the next big beneficiary for a future Alpha Soccer Academy branch in Uganda.

They later washed the feet of the children, in line with John 13:1-17 where Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. The children later dined to sumptuous meals before cutting cake and dancing in wait for the new year.

In Bulemeezi, the foundation mainly distributed foodstuffs to the children, donated sports gear, and engaged in football and entertainment activities at their village grounds.

“We are thankful for all the people in this community [Bulemeezi] because without these people, we can’t do what we do. We want to thank our friends and families in the United States who put in so much to make sure the foundation comes to make this impact.

“It was great to come with Arden and Shaun to see what is going on on ground and have an idea so they can be able to go and share with other friends.”
