St. Mary’s Kitende (SMASK) has appointed highly-rated and youthful coach Hassan Zungu as their new head coach.
Zungu replaces Daniel Male, who has taken up a permanent role with the Vipers’ technical team.
The experienced gaffer joins SMASK after serving as head coach at Jinja Secondary School since 2016. During his tenure, he guided Jinja SS to multiple titles, including district and zonal championships.
Speaking about his new role, Zungu expressed his ambition to uphold the school’s winning tradition while introducing his own style of play.
“It’s a great honour to join Kitende. They are a big school with a history of success, and under my leadership, we need to maintain that,” Zungu said.
“However, I want to instil my style of play. I enjoy free-flowing football and want to encourage the players to feel confident with the ball at their feet,” he added.
“It won’t be easy, but I love trying new things. Let’s see what we can achieve together as a team because I am fully committed to succeeding at Kitende.”
With Zungu’s wealth of experience and fresh approach, SMASK looks forward to continued success both on and off the pitch.
