The 26th edition of the women’s Africa Cup for Club champions will take center stage between 31st January to 7th February 2025 in Egypt’s city of Ismailia.

Uganda will gallantly be represented by the Kampala Hockey Club, hitherto the Swans.

On Monday, 27th January 2025, the Swans were officially flagged off at Copper Chimney Restaurant Lugogo by Sarah Chelangat, the acting Assistant General Secretary at the National Council of Sports (NCS), Technical.

“We are proud of our team and wish them all the best to go represent Uganda in the last competitions in Malawi you won Bronze so please this time win for us gold” remarked Chelangat.

Forward Sandra Namusoke who featured in the 2014 edition hosted in Uganda is among the vastly experienced players on the team.

Skipper Vanessa Aurelia Abeja, Bridget Baine and out of retirement Desire Mukisa are other key pillars with beaming expertise.

“I am excited about the team we have put together. We have a great blend of youth and experience, and I believe we can make a strong impact at the competition,” hinted Abeja.

Clubs from host country Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya will take part in this championship.

Kampala Hockey Club acknowledged support from a number of partners; Performance Hockey, Gorilla Leisure Lodge and the National Council of Sports (NCS).

NCS provided 25 return air-tickets for the team.
