FUBA has confirmed the Uganda Men’s National Basketball Team, Silverbacks, for the second leg of the FIBA Afrobasket Qualifiers.

The tournament will take place in Tripoli, Libya, later this month.

The 12-man squad consists of seven home-based players and four who ply their trade abroad.

The coaching staff met with the local players today, and training will continue on Wednesday and Thursday before the team relocates to Cairo, Egypt.

In Cairo, the Silverbacks will undergo a week of intense preparation before heading to Libya for the crucial qualifiers.

A key boost for the team is the return of Ishmail Wainright, who missed the first window. His presence adds depth, skill, and experience to the squad.

Uganda faces tough competition in Group B, which includes Cape Verde, Nigeria, and hosts Libya.

With only one win from the first window, the Silverbacks will need to step up their performance if they are to match the success of their female counterparts.
