Nyongore Chloe Innocent did not live to celebrate her 18th birthday after a sudden passing on last year following a brief spell of illness (due to severe malaria).
The multi-faceted sports personality was the team captain of Mt. St Mary’s Namagunga for the sport of Lacrosse.
She also played netball, volleyball, lawn tennis and volleyball.

To celebrate her life, a Chloe memorial sports tournament has been organized at the school on Saturday, 22nd February 2025.
This tournament will involve Lacrosse, chess, netball, volleyball, basketball and lawn tennis.
The Chloe memorial sports tournament is an annual event held at Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga to honour the legacy of Chloe, a former student whose passion for sports left a lasting impact on the school community. The tournament brings together students, alumni and invited teams to compete in the various sports including lacrosse, basketball, lawn tennis, volleyball, netball and chess.

This tournament not only promotes teamwork and sportsmanship, but also, a platform to showcase young talent and strengthen friendships among the different participants, celebrating the values of discipline, resilience and determination of honour of Chloe’s memory.
In 2022 as she was in S2, Nyongore fully received the Mt. St Mary’s College Namagunga Lacrosse Programme.
Two years later, she skippered the school team to a respectable fifth place finish during the 2024 USSSA Non-Feassa games hosted in Soroti city.
Nyongore was summoned on the Uganda national team preparing for the world games in Korea in 2026 and had started to learn the Korean language by herself.
She was laid to rest in Rwentuha village, Bushenyi district in Western Uganda on 22nd September 2024.
