KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru is wary of the threat of posed by Maroons ahead of their clash at Prisons Grounds, Luzira on Sunday.

The Kasasiro come into the game on the back of six successive league matches without victory and have lost the last three on the bounce.

The recent results have put them off the title race and they are now 8th with 24 points, a whopping 16 behind the table leading pack of NEC and Vipers.

“We are facing a tough period where results are not coming and then we face a bogey opponent in Maroons,” he started. “But the target remains to get three points and the boys are hungry to put a bad run to the end,” he added.

“It will be tough as it has always been at their home but we need to put this to end as well.”

Both sides won their respective cup matches to join the round of 16 draw and will hope to build on that.

In the reverse fixture at Lugogo, KCCA registered their best result so far in the season winning 5-0 but that was a time when Maroons were struggling for form.

At the moment, they are literally on equal footing with the Kasasiro despite losing twice in the past three matches and drawing the other.

With 23 points in 9th position, a win over Mubiru’s side will see them swap places with the 13-time league champions.

In other matches on the day, defending champions SC Villa visit UPDF at Bombo while Vipers are at home against Mbarara City.
