Pools for the second round of the 2025 World Rugby 7s Challenger Series on March 7-8 were drawn and released on Monday.

Uganda is in Pool B with former international 7s powerhouses Canada and Tonga. The two have a rich history of participating in the World Rugby SVNS Series unlike Uganda who are yet to enjoy core status.

Men’s Pools for Round Two of the 2025 7s Challenger Series:

  • Pool A: Chile, Japan, Hong Kong China.
  • Pool B: Canada, Uganda, Tonga.
  • Pool C: Germany, Madagascar, Georgia.
  • Pool D: Samoa, Portugal, Brazil.

Seventh-placed Uganda splits their two pool opponents in the current standings. Canada, who were relegated from the SVNS Series last season, were losing finalists last Sunday while Tonga were tenth.

The Rugby Cranes 7s will have an even more uphill task to top their pool, having finished second in the first round.

Uganda’s Fixtures (kickoff times EAT):

  • 6.21 p.m.: Canada v Uganda

These matches will be played on Friday, March 7 at the Athlone Stadium and will be broadcast on RugbyPass TV.
