The 2025 Uganda Women’s Rugby Premiership is played following a round-robin home-and-away league format. There are seven teams; Avengers, Black Pearls, Ewes, Nile Rapids, Panthers, She Wolves, and Thunderbirds.
Each of these teams has played six matches and has another six to complete the current season. That means we are at the halfway point.
As it stands, Black Pearls are on top of the table while Panthers have the wooden spoon.
Three-time defending champions Black Pearls are not only still unbeaten but they have also collected the bonus point in each of their matches.
Together with second-placed Thunderbirds, they are head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.
Avengers and Nile Rapids have traded the third place between themselves week in, week out. At this point, the latter is ahead of the former by just one point.
She Wolves and Ewes have shown incredible growth since getting promoted a few seasons ago. They are in fifth and sixth place respectively.
Panthers, the youngest club in the competition, are yet to taste victory and sit rock bottom on the table.
Ceteris paribus, the table is not likely to change much outside the four mini-groups by the end of the season in May.
