NEC FC hopes of claiming this season’s Uganda Premier League crown suffered yet another blow on Friday after playing out a goalless draw against Wakiso Giants FC.

In the game played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, neither side could find the breakthrough, a result that dumpened the visitor’s hopes.

Hussein Mbalangu and his charges have been nearly perfect at home but there performance on the road has been the exact opposite.

The Die Hards once again failed to find the perfect footing today against relegation-threatened Wakiso Giants.

Despite having better chances in the game, NEC FC failed to find the outlet. Allan Mugalu and Muzamiru Mutyaba had attempts at goal on different intervals in the first half but goakeeper James Alitho was able to save on both occassions.

On the other hand, Benjamin Ochan was called to action shortly before the break to deny Rahmat Ssenfuka.

The second stanza had very few chances if any and the two teams eventually settled for a barren stalemate.

The result leaves NEC FC in second place on 41 points, five behind leaders Vipers SC while Wakiso Giants FC on the other hand remain third from bottom on 14 points.
