KCCA FC put a halt to their winless run on Saturday in remarkable fashion after dispatching bottom-placed Mbale Heroes FC at the MTN-Omondi Stadium.

The Kasasiro Boys were ruthless on the day, winning 5-0 to end the poor run that had seen them last secure victory on 15th December 2024 away to Wakiso Giants FC.

Today, the Lugogo-based outfit got back to winning ways with Shafik Nana Kwikiriza, Arafat Usama Kizza, Yan Gatbel, Sadat Happy Anaku and Sharif Ssengendo scoring a goal each.

In a one-sided game, Usama opened the scores, with his well-curled strike from outside the area beating Mbale Heroes goalkeeper Simon Mabuya.

Kwikiriza doubled the lead in the 26th minute with a sole effort, dribbling past two defenders before slotting home.

With four minutes to the end of the first half, Anaku got onto the score sheet, scoring from close range when Kwikiriza’s low cross found him in the area and the keeper fumbled with the initial effort only for Anaku to score from the rebound.

Youngster Gatbel scored KCCA FC’s fourth goal of the day in the 72nd minute before Ssengendo put the icing on the cake three minutes later.

The result takes KCCA FC to sixth place with 28 points while Mbale Heroes FC remain bottom of the table with 10 points.
