Uganda’s U-17 Women’s National Team, the Teen Cranes, will face Kenya in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Saturday.
The qualifiers have now entered the second round, with Uganda advancing after eliminating Namibia in the first stage of the campaign.
Teen Cranes head coach Sheryl Botes expressed confidence in her team’s preparation ahead of the crucial clash against Kenya.
“We had eight days to prepare the team. Based on what we have accomplished so far, we are confident we can challenge Kenya,” she said.
“They are a strong side with previous World Cup experience, bringing both skill and composure to the game. That’s why I won’t field the same team that played against Namibia,” she added.
The winner of this tie will advance to face either Cameroon or Ethiopia in the next round of the qualifiers.
