Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Joseph Put has named the squad that will play the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier games.

Put confirmed a squad of 26 players on Monday in a press briefing held at FUFA Complex, Mengo.

The team summoned is largely composed of players who have been featuring in recent engagements apart from a few players.

Toby Sibbick who plies his trade with Wigan FC has been summoned for the first time since playing in the friendly games against Comoros and Ghana in March last year.

Enock Ssebagala who has been enjoying a good spell with NEC FC in the domestic League gets his first call on the senior team while Abdu Karim Watambala and Rogers Torach return to the fold after some time.

Coach Put revealed defender Elio Capraddosi was not summoned because he picked up an injury at his club Citadella AC recently.

Uganda will face Mozambique in Cairo, Egypt on 20th March and host Guinea four days later at Mandela National Stadium.

Uganda is currently fifth in Group G on six points same as Guinea and Botswana, Algeria and Mozambique have nine each while Somalia is yet to pick a point.

The team is expected to enter camp on Friday this week and travel to Egypt the next day where the foreign-based players will join.
