Overview:

For starters, Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital was established in 1904 and now serves a total population of about 4.3 million people from the districts of Wakiso, Kampala, Mpigi, Mpigi, Kalangala and as far as Nakaseke.

March every calendar year remains a special epoch for the dearest mothers on the globe.

This is a special month where the International women’s day is celebrated (8th March) across the entire world.

Lady golfers at Entebbe Club have donated an assortment of items to the women admitted in the maternity section of Entebbe regional referral hospital.

Some of the items donated included sugar, bathing and washing soap, Vaseline, buckets, liquid soap, baby pampers, toilet papers, sanitary pads, among others.

They were officially handed over to the Hospital Director Dr. John Bosco Nsubuga who was flanked by the doctors, nurses and mid-wives.

Entebbe lady captain Jovia Tugume Namaara (also aspiring Member of Parliament of Entebbe Municipality), previous lady captains Charity Tushabomwe, Rhoda Tumusiime and other lady golfers including a few artisans all came to the hospital.

“We are very humbled for the donations from the lady golfers of Entebbe Club. I am the patients we receive are women. We offer comprehensive care that also entails rehabilitative care. This is where we also need support from partners. We thank the golfers (men and women), the leadership of Entebbe club and the Uganda golf union in general. We thank the leaders in the women section at Entebbe club for steering this support” Dr Nsubuga appreciated.

Lady Captain at Entebbe Club Tugume lauded the golfing fraternity especially the ladies and some men who contributed money to buy the items that were donated.

“I thank all the lady golfers and a few men who contributed wholesomely to this noble cause. This is just the start. We shall return with more support” Tugume hinted.

The ladies section at Entebbe club organizes a number of activities on and off the course with the weekly Wednesday ladies’ nights a norm at this 1901 founded facility.

Entebbe Club owes its founding year as far back as 1901 and remains one of the major tourists’ attractions with Entebbe Municipality.
