JT Lady Jaguars secured a hard-fought 75-71 victory against JKL Lady Dolphins in the 2025 National Basketball League season opener at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
Aziida Nabayunga closed the first stanza with a long shot as JT Lady Jaguars opened a two-point lead (21-19) at the end of the frame.
Sandra Ayikoru Wangeshi lit up the crowd with a deep long shot before going through bodies for an easy layup to stretch the Lady Jaguars’ lead to eight points at 03:29.
Shakira Nanvubya missed from behind the arc at the halftime buzzer as the Lady Jaguars took a nine-point into the long break.
Halfway through the third stanza, JKL put in a great shift to take the lead (43-42) after Tamasha Nsubuga’s floating jump shot.
It was an end to end encounter in the final quarter as the Lady Jaguars secured a four-point lead.
Lady Jaguars’ score board was led by Shakira Nanvubya (18 points), Sandra Wangeshi (12 points ) & Sarah Ageno (10 points) while Lady Dolphins’ offence was led by Hope Akello (20 points), Becky Longom (14 points) & Evelyn Nakiyingi (13 points).
