Skaters get instructions from Regan Lumala before start of a race

Overview:

The outstanding competitors will take part in the East Africa inter-schools championship on 13th April 2025.

The second edition of the indoor junior championship inline skating championship was held at Rainbow International school indoor arena in Kasanga, Kampala on Saturday, 4th April 2025.

Over 50 participants took part in the day-long championship in the varying age categories whose theme was “The roots of talent: Nurturing young skatters for the future”.

The event was organized by the Skating Club of Kampala under the chairmanship of Reagan Lumala.

Top performers:

There were medals and certificates to the top three performers in the different age groups.

In the U-6 age group (60 metres for 1 lap), Bill Gates Kalungi won gold ahead of Joseph Knaus and Raphael Pezin for silver and bronze respectively.

For the girls, Malaka Lotigo earned gold, Mercy Mulungi Lusiba (silver) and Pearl Nina (bronze).

U-8:

Erri Nayana Reddy took gold for boys U-8 with silver for Ahyam Ali Sameeh and Amsley Dawson (bronze).

Michelle Lucille Halla clinched gold in girls’ U-8. Aaira Kotadia took silver whilst Pearl Nina earned bronze.

U-10:

Riyan was the only boy’s competitor in this age bracket.

For the girls U-10, gold was won by Arielle Dawson, silver for Chloe Akinyi and bronze went to Gabriella Nakiranda.

U-12:

The U-12 category witnessed Frankie Katembo play for gold, Muuminu Kyengo (silver) and Erri Sreyas Reddy earned bronze.

The outstanding competitors will take part in the East Africa inter-schools championship on 13th April 2025.
