Nabisunsa clinched their first win of the National Basketball League season with a well-deserved 65-56 victory over Angels at Abja Park, Nalya, on Wednesday.

Joy Auma was instrumental in the win, recording a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Abigail Mpoza also contributed significantly on the scoreboard with 27 points.

For Angels, Caroline Nakato led the way with 12 points, while Joan Namatovu and Martha Patience Likicho added 11 points each.

Angels started strong, with Namatovu’s layup capping off the first quarter to give them a 16-12 lead.

However, they struggled offensively in the second quarter, managing just 11 points as Nabisunsa took a 36-27 lead into halftime.

Nabisunsa stepped up their game in the third quarter, stretching the lead to 20 points (57-37) and putting Angels in a difficult position.

Despite a determined fightback from Angels in the final period, they could only close the gap to nine points, as Nabisunsa held on for a convincing win after four intense quarters.
