After the opening two days of grueling action for the 2025 Wakiso regional schools’ football championship in the group stages, action swings to the exciting knock-outs.

Different playgrounds in Nsangi zone, the host venue for the championship will be busy, as it has been the case since Monday.

The last group games were played on Wednesday in the different group pools as the schools fought gallantly for decent positions to advance to the round of 16 stage.

Kisozi High School outsmarted Kawanda SS 2-0 in one of the boys’ duels played at the Buddo SS playground.

Allan Mujuni and Shafik Kasujja scored inside the opening quarter an hour to secure victory for Kisozi High School Buddo, a side coached by former Express player Jingo and Andrew Ssekayombya.

At the same venue, K.Garden Groove College Buddo played to a 1-all draw with St Charles Lwanga Kakiri.

Chris Adventure gave St Charles Lwanga Kakiri the lead before left footed gem Isaac Ssengendo leveled the matters for K.Garden Groove College Buddo.

In girl’s football, Rayan Islamic Kayunga Wakiso and Standard High School Zzana played to a non-scoring draw.

Round of 16:

Boys:

The round of 16 stage for the boys will commence with Standard High Zzana against St James Buddo at Buddo Junior 1 playground (9:30 AM).

Kyaddondo SS faces Kisozi High School at Kings College playground, Madinah Islamic SS will square up against Aidan College Ndejje at Kasenge playground and hosts Buddo SS faces London College Nansana – Buddo SS

11:30 AM:

Record Wakiso region champions St Mary’s Kitende faces Ndejje High School at the Kings College Budo playground, Light College Katikamu will take on either Kawempe Royal or Cityland Matugga at Kasenge.

Kakungulu High School is up either Kajjansi Progressive or Andy Mwesigwa at Buddo Junior 1 playground and Green Light Islamic will lock horns against Zzana Mixed at the Buddo SS playground.

Girls:

The early games (8:30 am kick off) for the girls will witness St Noa Girls in contest against Light High School Sseguku at the Kings College playground, Tagy High School tussles against Light College Katikamu at Buddo SS, Standard High School Zzana and Hope SS will face off at Buddo Junior 1 playground and Buddo Christian will face Rayan Islamic at the Kasenge playground.

10:30 AM:

Aidan College Ndejje faces Kakungulu High School at Buddo Junior 1 playground, God Cares High School locks horns against Fairway High School at Kasenge, London College Nansana will take on Alliance High School, Nansana at Kings College Budo and Rines SS shall play Mary’s Mount SS at Buddo SS playground.

The quarter finals per gender will also be played on the same day (Thursday) ahead of Friday’s semi-final show-down.

The finals shall be played on Tuesday, 15th April 2025 at Wakisha resource center stadium.

The 2025 national championships will be hosted in Ngora district.
