Victoria Crocs pulled off a hard-fought 64-57 victory over the JT Jaguars in a gripping National Basketball League encounter played at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday.

It was a tightly contested game from start to finish, with the Crocs edging the Jaguars by a single point (11-10) in the opening quarter.

Choul Nyuot capped off the second period with a perfect trip to the free-throw line, helping the Crocs maintain a slim one-point (31-30 ) lead heading into halftime.

The battle continued after the break, with the Crocs slightly widening the gap to 44-42 by the end of the third quarter.

Despite a spirited fightback from the Jaguars in the final stretch, they ultimately fell short, trailing by seven points at the final buzzer in what was a thrilling display of basketball.

Ronald Ayume led the scoring for the Crocs with 10 points, while Peter Sifuma stood out for the Jaguars, registering an impressive double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds.

Speaking to the press after the game, Jaguars guard Elijah Adukan expressed disappointment with his team’s performance.

“I think we got a bit complacent and underestimated the boys,” Adukan admitted.

“We weren’t productive enough, and our offence looked poor and unacceptable. We gave away too much at the line and failed to convert our long-range shots,” he added.

“We need to settle down and be clear about our intentions in the league. We have to fight for every win and not get carried away.”
