These are some of the words Patrick Kakande said in an interview with Pitchside as he praised coach Dusan Stojanovic for shaping him into a better player.

Kakande was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the previous season after leading SC Villa to their 17th Uganda Premier League title, setting a record.

He also received the Players’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards, and he was included in the Best XI, placing him above other players.

However, he credits his achievements to the exceptional guidance of Coach Dusan during that campaign.

“Dusan was a special coach. He taught me what to do before the game, during the game, and after the game,” he noted.

“I knew some of my abilities, but he helped me understand what I needed to do to improve and be more useful to the team. I wish him the best wherever he is.”

Kakande recalled Dusan’s encouraging words before every match: “I know you are capable, so show me what you can do.” This motivated him to repay the coach’s trust.

The agile Kakande, known for his deft footwork and keen eye for goal, firmly believes that the foundation he built at SC Villa will pave the way for him to become a successful professional player.

After winning his first Uganda Premier League title, his confidence and strategic insights have infused him with a renewed determination as he embarks on his football journey.
