KCCA Leopards secured a narrow 63-61 victory against the UCU Lady Canons in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
Among the attendees was KCCA Executive Director Sharifah Buzeki, who joined the celebrations on the bench immediately after the final whistle.
Hajara Najjuko’s two long jump shots gave the UCU Lady Canons a one-point lead (13-12) at the end of the first period.
The Leopards faced a significant setback when Tracy Namugosa had to leave the court due to an injury.

Perus Nyamwenge’s three-point shot levelled the score at 31-31 by the end of the second period. She made a strong impression, finishing with a game-high 17 points as she walked to the locker room with her head held high.
After halftime, the Lady Canons improved their execution and opened up a three-point lead going into the final period.
In a tight finish, the Leopards managed to secure a two-point victory.
Nyamwenge led the Leopards’ scoring with 22 points, followed by Asinah Kabendela with 10 points.
Shilah Lamunu scored 13 points and Najjuko added 10 points, making them the only players from UCU to reach double digits for the Lady Canons.
