Uganda Premier League Mbarara City has parted ways with Livingstone Mbabazi ahead of the final bend of the ongoing campaign.
The development was confirmed in a statement on the club’s official social media platforms.
“Mbarara City FC can confirm that a decision has been taken to relieve Charles Livingstone Mbabazi of his duties as the head coach,” the statement partly reads.
According to the club, they expect to name a caretaker who will lead the club through the remaining four league games.
The gaffer was appointed for the role on June 17, 2024, on a two-year employment contract to replace Wasswa Bossa, but his tenure has not lasted for even a year.
He has managed the club through 23 games, securing five wins, making eight draws and suffering 13 losses.
He leaves the club in the 13th position with only three points above the relegation line.
Mbarara City’s remaining four league games will see the side lock horns with Wakiso Giants (away), Lugazi FC (home), Express (home) and Maroons (away).
