The 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) ball games 1 officially commence on Tuesday, 6th May in Bukedea district, in the North East of the country.

Newly crowned Mukono zone boys’ basketball champions St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde is among the hundreds of schools that will compete in these games.

The boys team alongside the debutant girls’ team were officially flagged off on Monday morning by the head teacher Joseph Kamya, at the school premises.

From the energy emitted by the players and accompanying teachers, all signs are eminent that St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde is a team on a mission possible.

“Go and represent the school gallantly. Remain disciplined and fight hard in every game” Kamya urged the team before handing over a brand new set of jerseys to the girls’ team.

Malcom Omondi, the boys’ team captain expressed readiness to represent the school at these games.

“We have been training well and therefore ready to give our best in the games in Bukedea. We thank the school management for the support, our teachers, coaches, my fellow players and students for the support” Omondi remarked.

The team then boarded the school bus for the Bukedea journey where they will face a couple of other seasoned players.

The boys team for St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde is housed in group E alongside, Janan SS, Masaka SS, Kings College Budo, Holy Cross and St Maria Gorreti Katende.

The girls are in group H with giants St Noa Girls Zana, Nyakasura, Lubiri SS, Amus College and Kisubi Mapeera.

The USSSA Ball Games 1 have a rich collection of sports as Basketball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Hockey, Rugby, Netball (U-16) and Volleyball (U-16).

Boys’ football is happening in Ngora district.
