  • Vipers SC vs Mbale Heroes – Kitende 7pm
  • NEC vs BUL – Lugogo 7pm

SC Villa and KCCA face off in a low-key Kampala derby with both sides playing for pride as the premier league draws closer.

The Jogoos, winless in the past three matches want to beat the Kasasiro for the first time since 2020 and are buoyed by the return of key players David Owori, Arnold Odong and Godfrey Lubangakene who have missed the last couple of matches through injury.

Villa are also aware that victory over Jackson Magera’s men will see them leapfrog them into 5th place on the table.

They are currently on 38 points in 8th position, only two behind KCCA who come into the game on the back of four straight wins including the semi-final first leg against Kataka in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

KCCA have Sadat Anaku and Mustafa Mujjuzi back to full fitness but Ettiene Katenga and Derrick Nsibambi remain doubtful for the clash.

The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw with Sadat Anaku and Patrick Kakande (doubtful) scoring in the 63rd and 68th minutes respectively in what was a thrilling game at Lugogo in December.

Morley Byekwaso, formerly at KCCA is in the dugout for the hosts while Magera, formerly at Villa is in charge of the 13-time league champions.

The two sides share 30 league titles with Villa having the biggest share with 17.

In the other matches on Wednesday, Vipers and NEC are at home to Mbale Heroes and BUL respectively.
