Team captains prior to kick off_2025 USSSA boys football in Ngora district

The on-going 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys football championship has reached the round of 16 stage in Ngora district.

On Saturday, May 10, there were a couple of matches at the round of 32 phase and several classification duels to determine positions 33 to 64.

Teso zone representatives Amus College and Ngora High School joined Standard High School Zzana among the big names ejected at the stage of 32.

Amus College School painfully bowed out to Green Light Islamic School 4-3 in post-match penalties after normal time had failed to produce any goal.

Hosts Ngora High School lost to the reigning champions St Julian High School 4-1 in post-match penalties after 0-0 in regulation time.

Standard High School Zzana and the sister institution Standard High School Ndejje Campus also got eliminated.

Uganda Martyrs’ Lubaga edged the Ndejje campus 2-0.

Other results:

Kawempe Muslim advanced to the round of 16 courtesy of a 4-0 win over Kisozi Seed.

Wisdom High School humbled Lagwai Seed 4-0, as multiple champions Kibuli S.S overcame Buziga Islamic School 4-1.

Ahmed Kintu had a brace for Kibuli SS with Kibesi Wasswa and Eclasi Kawalya had a goal apiece.

St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende defeated Bishop Comboni College 3-0, the same score-line that Buddo SS had over Mbale’s Bugisu High School.

Denis Kisambira notched a brace for Buddo SS and Owen Mukisa added the other goal.

Also, Masaka SS overcame Kabalega SS 3-0.

Wakiso zone’s Kyadondo SS edged Lake Side Masese 2-1. Musa Nviri and Thomas Ogema were on target for Kyadondo SS as Bush Kakeeto got the consolation for Lake Side Masese.

Mentor SS pipped St Kagwa High School Bushenyi 1-0, the same scoreline that Blessed Sacrament Kimanya had over MUMSA High School Mityana.

Determined by post-match penalties:

Four matches were decided by post-match penalty kicks.

Jinja Comprehensive School, coached by Isaac Ozil Kitakule beat Masaka zone’s Wagwa High School 2-1.

Normal time was one-goal apiece. Akisam Ssegawa gave Jinja Comprehensive the first half lead. Mahad Mubiru replied for Wagwa High School with a late-late free-kick to send the game into a tense shoot-out.

George Ikwagati and Shadrack Namukowa scored the only penalties for Jinja Comprehensive with Walter Okello and Emmanuel Gugulu denied by Wagwa High goalkeeper Umaru Ssegujja.

Dieu Kanira scored Wagwa High’s penalty as Abdul Ssekajugo, Henry Kamya, Musa Suuna and Joseph Kizza all stopped by goalkeeper Aggrey Isiko.

Green Light Islamic ejected Amus College School 4-3 in post-match penalties after a non-scoring stalemate in normal time.

Bukedea Comprehensive School, coached by Ronald Ssali eliminated Ceaser Okhuti’s Mvara SS 5-4 in penalties after another goal-less draw.

Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) won 3-2 in penalties over Standard High School Zzana after yet another goal-less draw in normal time.

The round of 16 duels will be played on Sunday, 11th May 2025.
