MTN Monthly Tee (May 2025):
- Overall winner: Esther Aganyira (Handicap 34) – 62 net
A total of 156 players turned up for the MTN monthly tee golf tournament for May 2025 at the par-71 Entebbe club.
It was one unique championship dubbed the Next Gen Accountants’ edition where the Certified Professional Accountants (CPA) joined the fray to spice up the day alongside the usual sponsors MTN Uganda, wtw and castle-lite.
Esther Aganyira (handicap 34) emerged as the overall player on the day with 62 nett.
“I am happy to be on the podium as the overall winner. It was a good round of golf that gives me the momentum going forward for the rest of the year” Aganyira remarked.
Handicap 28 player Dennis Ankunda was best guest player with 65 net as Edward Kabuchi took the best senior trophy with 69 net, playing off handicap 20.
Other top performers:
Robbins Mwehaire (handicap 8) won group A men ahead of Andrew Baguma (handicap 7) with 71.
Apollo Segawa (handicap 17) won group B with 64 net as Edwin Tabaro (handicap 18) scored 69 net (on countback) for second place.
In group C men, Arthur Arinaitwe was outstanding with 69 net on countback, ahead of Lloyd Busuulwa.
CPA category:
In the special CPA category, Moses Ssebugwawo (handicap 18) was best with 69 net.
Handicap 28 golfer Timothy Musiime came second with 75 net, Patrick Kagoro (77) and Alfred Kabuchu (78 net countback) completed the top four positions.
Order of merit:
After five rounds, Saidi Kirarira leads the cast for the men with 353 net in five outings.’
Kirarira is followed by Arthur Arinaitwe (355), Sean Kinsella (363), Robbins Mwehaire (364) and Andrew Baguma (365) in the top five.
The ladies top five has Peace Hellen (344), Maxi Byenkya (354), Edith Wamalwa (364), Rukia Nalwoga (377) and Nice Janda (379).
