The workshop has theory and practical sessions meant to further equip the officials with hands-on knowledge and crucial skills in safety and security operations prior to the forthcoming Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament in August.

This tournament will be hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania between 2nd August to 30th August 2025.

It was to be hosted from 1 to 28 February 2025, however, on 14 January 2025 it was postponed to August 2025 in the same 3 countries.

This will be the first edition to be hosted by three countries.

The CHAN tournament is a dress rehearsal of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
