Vipers SC secured their seventh Uganda Premier League title after scoring a total of 49 goals, with Allan Okello contributing 19 of those goals. Additionally, Okello created four assists, bringing his overall goals and assists tally to 23.
After his impressive performance in the 2024/25 UPL campaign, Okello has received well-deserved praise, though he chose to dedicate the trophy to the club supreme for the trust they invested in him.
In an interview with the press after lifting the trophy on Saturday, he dedicated the trophy to Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, expressing gratitude for the trust shown in him during his injury.
“This is my way of giving back to Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa for believing in me and bringing me on board even when I was injured. He managed to treat me, and this is the only way I can show my appreciation,” Okello stated.
Despite the challenges posed by a long-term injury, Vipers president made a bold decision to sign Allan Okello to a three-year contract. After terminating his agreement with Algerian club Paradou AC, Okello attracted interest from several clubs, including his boyhood club KCCA, but he chose to join Vipers SC.
“Hey Venoms, a new chapter begins at Vipers SC! Let’s do this. Special thanks to everyone who made this possible. I’m delighted to be here and can’t wait to get started,” Okello stated upon his arrival.
After finishing the 2023/24 UPL season without a trophy, Okello is now celebrating his first triumph with the club after posting “League Champions.” Looking ahead, he is optimistic about the possibility of securing a double at the end of the season.
“We have come a long way. The boys know what is at stake, and I believe we are ready for the Uganda Cup final against KCCA. It will be a tough match, but may the best team win,” he asserted.
