JKL Lady Dolphins secured a well-deserved 86-74 victory against KCCA Leopards in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
Shadia Nassanga had the game of her life with a double-double, dropping 21 points and pulling down 16 rebounds.
Kamwada (17 points) and Hope Akello (15 points) also contributed double digits for the Lady Dolphins.
On the other hand, Susan Aanyu (22 points), Perus Nyamwenge (15 points), and Margaret Bagaala (10 points) led the KCCA Leopards’ fight in double digits.
JKL Lady Dolphins tipped off the second round with a sweet revenge after paying back to the Leopards who beat them 75-67 in the first round at Abuja Park, Nalya.
Evelyn Nakiyingi dropped two shots beyond the arc as JKL Lady Dolphins opened a four-point (30-24) lead at the end of the opening period.
Aanyu’s jump shot capped the second quarter as KCCA Leopards took a one-point (48-47) in the long break.
Agatha Kamwada’s two three-point shots extended JKL Lady Dolphins’ 11-point lead at the end of the third period.
Despite the fight by the Leopards, the defending champions sealed a 12-point victory on the day.
